Home > Garden Projects > Award Winning Garden in Sussex
This new property had been built on the site of an old lake. The garden proved extremely challenging, with excavated clay spread to a depth of several metres across the garden. Knowing that long term that movement was inevitable, no matter what precautions were taken, the main garden structure was laid on several levels with sleeper retaining walls and Breedon gravel paths.
Around the house, Harvest sawn sandstone provided an attractive paved terrace and the garden was completed with a gazebo, fire pit and water feature, all lit at night.
