This large private residence is surrounded by extensive grounds in a rural Sussex setting.  The property had recently been extended, leaving little useable outdoor entertaining space.  The brief was to create an imposing family garden, with extensive areas for relaxing and entertaining.  

To meet our client’s requirements, a number of distinct, linked, areas were constructed.  These include two substantial terraces adjacent to the house, a pool with surrounding terrace and summerhouse, large water garden, kitchen garden and enhancements to the natural lake.

The water garden, with its large L-shaped feature, calming waterfalls, and extensive planting, provides a focal point from which paths lead to other parts of the garden. 

At the front, a new entrance was constructed and the parking areas substantially enlarged and re-surfaced.

Extensive planting, lawns and a meadow complete the scheme.  Wherever possible existing trees and shrubs were incorporated into the new layout, particularly around the water gardens.

Both front and rear gardens are lit at night.
