This large private house was constructed on steeply sloping ground, providing little garden space.  Spoils from the house had been left to create a lawn, but this was rapidly slipping down the hill!

The design required considerable engineering work, to provide a family-sized lawn and extensive terrace for entertaining, all supported by a network of retaining walls and planters.

A private seating area below the main wall provides views across the surrounding woodland.
